Muddy Fox help

I have no history with Muddy Fox bikes. Can anyone tell me what year this frame might be(the owner has no idea). A retro worthy frame? http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=389&se ... 18706698#1

MUDDY FOX ATB 22in 1985 lovely original condition. This is one of the really early Muddy Fox ATBs built by Araya in Japan. . It was a serious MTB with Tange tubing and proper ATB kit including rather good Shimano ATB derailleurs with thumbies, Sugino GT chainset, Dia-Compe cantilevers and Araya rims. Early ATBs such as this are rather rare especially in original condition.

So, yours is around 1986-7 ish onwards, ticks the 'retro' box and is of good quality.

Google 'Muddy Fox Araya' - another weeks worth of research material to while away these winter nights.

Did you end up getting this Araya Muddy Fox? just finished mine.... and its a really nice bike.

I love where the manufacturer knew damned well their bikes were going to be shoulder slung quite often judging by the thoughtful padding they have included in the angle under the seat.

Don't see that these days do you, but perhaps if manufacturers did, it would be perhaps considered as negative advertising, as it is as good as saying , no matter what it costs and what special features it has to justify that cost, you will still end up carrying it.
