Reluctant to sell but I can’t keep it… 3 bicycles fighting against two baby prams, toys and a baby high chair for a space on a flat, seen to not like much to my wife… for this reason I need to find a new home for my much beloved and looked after MTB Litespeed Hiwassee 1997, size 15.5”.
I have it since 2000 when I bought it from a friend. Only 2 owners from new.
The bike is in perfect working condition and shifting is smooth as silk, except for the rear rim that needs to be replaced because it’s worn out (you know that this can be sorted out for only £50).
I regularly ride on the Swinley Forest so if you have been there probably you have seen me riding it.
The bike has been build with the highest components as per list below.
Full history
The frame is a 1997 but much of the components have been updated.
The frame was professionally polished in 2003 that’s why all the decals were removed. As you can see from the picture the frame stickers do not match the frame age.
Some of the components have the usual cosmetic wear, shoe rubbing and scratches from use (not dents or bended parts).
Fork: Fox RL 80mm (recently serviced and overhauled, even the stickers has been replaced) (it was fitted to the bike in 2004)
Front and rear derailleur: Shimano XTR 9 speed (the front derailleur was replaced in 2004) The jockeys on the rear needs to be replaced but they work fine.
Brakes: Shimano XTR V-brakes
Brake levers: Avid Ti (fitted in 2004)
Shifters: Shimano XTR 9 speed
Crankset and BB: Shimano XT (fitted in 2004)
Cassette and chain: Shimano XT (still some life)
Seatpost: Thomson 27 (fitted in 200
Wheels: Mavic Cross Ride with Mavic hubs 28h (as I mentioned above, the rear rim needs to be replaced)
Stem: Bontrager (fitted in 2005)
Pedals not included, they have been fitted to my other bike
