MTB front derry?

Haven't done this before so wondering if its possible to fit a MTB triple front derry to a roadbike fitted with triple chainrings, or if a specific roadie one is required?

See no reason why mtb one wouldn't work, but you know how fickle bike components are when it comes to interchangeability

Anyone know for sure?

I have a 734 chainset and front mech worked by a triple road lever, it is fine.

Shimano (bless 'em) have different pull per click between road and MTB front mechs.

So, if you are using STI you can encounter a problem - obviously non-indexed shifting is fine.

There is a solution, which is to correct the leverage on the MTB front mech by clamping on the wrong side of the pinch bolt. Details are on the CTC forum.

Maybe I should say at this point its a campag chainring and will be Suntour or Shimano derry

All other components shifters rear derry etc are Campagnolo
