£7 for 3 chainrings. Dogs not included.

Today just this:

29. Profile 1" threaded stem. Quite a lot of rise, but nice quality. Champagneish colour, would go nicely with Shimano parts. £5 posted.

30. Strong 1" stem. Black. Sexy. Two bolt quill design. This was fitted to a Puegeot Dakkar 21, Puegeot's top mountain bike in 1989. How I wish I still had that bike, it's now been resprayed metallic orange. Still, it's going to trundle out another couple of decades for its new owner so I can't complain, at least it's being used. Anyway.SOLD
31. Sturmey AW hub with long axle. This could be made to fit in a 130mm hub. Complete with shifter and cable and selector gubbins, all you need is a fulcrum clip and a sprocket to turn an old derralieur frame into an ultra reliable 3 speed. Seriously, think about the possibilities here. You could have the myriad advantages of a singlespeed bike, only it's got a gear for going up hills and a gear for going down them. 36h, manufactured in April 1989 according to its date stamp. REDUCED £18 posted, before I turn Jimmy Saville into a 3 speed and create a new kind of "lifestyle" bike that everyone will pay through the nose for. Trek's 2010 lineup will include a machine called the Saville 3.:P

do you still have the bolt on front mech? and also the gold m-trax frame? also what size is it?

Matt

Mech's gone, sorry.
Mtrax is still available. Seat tube 17.5" c-c (20" c-t) top tube 22". AMAZING credit crunch busting PM for you.

You need another interest to counteract the bike tinkering obsession

Get into the timber and go for a long overdue refit

 Refit
Tinkering with wood is cheaper and takes longer to finish = Less time to buy and tinker bikes
You will also only use a couple of bikes and can wait for the best bits to adorn it with.
:D

Hi Chris.

Go on then i'll take the black 1" quill stem please. As you admire a haggler we can call it £4.00 then can we

Cheers.
Dave.

Dyna-ti, while you're correct, the bottom line is I like tinkering with bikes much more than I like refitting boats.

And I'm not interested in botique parts, or the frames that most people here would drool over. That doesn't mean I won't appreciate yours, or the work you've put into it; but chasing the best is a hiding to nothing with bikes. They enter my life, I admire them, play with them a bit, and they move on again. I'd much rather be doing that than watching TV!

Dave , I so admire a haggler I'm going to accept your offer. But only if you're paying by cheque or bank transfer. I bloody hate Paypal.
