Morning chaps

Any inspiration on removing the swing arm on a San Andreas classic?

I've undone the bolts and flirted with pressing the pivot through ... do I just need to hit it harder?

(Then I can put it in the dishwasher!)

Turns out the answer was "yes"

Time for a clean, then

use a drift next time...stops the ends mushrooming.also apply proper grease on the pivot and inside when replacing it.also dont forget the little rubber o rings too....i did and had to remove the bugger and do it again.

She turned out ok :-)

And Gibble, thanks for the tip on the o rings. I would have forgotten those little blighters and done exactly the same.

mmm....nice! thats a very early frame does it have an 1&1/4" headset?

It does indeed. Do you happen to know roughly what year that would equate to?

Frame number is (hand etched) 11397

probably no later than 1994 difficult to say for sure as factory records have disappeared over the years. if you are on Facebook there are 2 groups of Mountain Cycle fans on there and some times Robert Reisinger the SanAn designer posts too!

Big.Eck in macretro has one but it doesnt look like any other normal San An build with its fox 40's and 9" rotors
