I am restoring a couple of moulton F Frame bikes anyone into them on here

I have had a couple and a space frame (which I stupidly sold to someone in Japan via eBay).

My wife rode Eroica on one ...

I had to push her up the hills past many walking :D

They are cool but heavy ...

Re:

The higher end models are hard to find now as they have a strong following in Japan who seem to buy up all the good examples.

The bike pictured above also was sold to a Japanese buyer you paid big money for the shipping ...

Always wanted a space frame apb thingy type?

Why do they command such high prices?

The APB was kinda fun but nothing special to ride. Got lots of interest from people.

The prices are driven by the fact there is a huge Moulton fan base in Japan who are willing to pay to have good examples shipped out there ....

I have an original dye-line print of the patent application from 1962, which shows the design vey similar to the later models. I was always very critical of the poor design on the Raleigh models of the overloaded chainstay which would frequently fracture near the rubber block.

I built a pair of 16 inch wheels in the late 1950s which I found later were used in early experiments by Alex Moulton.
