tonight i went to poole quay for bike night, haven't been there in ages so tonight was the night!! :D

i went down with a few mates, gary was riding his 1953 BSA goldstar, an isle of man TT winning bike in 1953 ridden by derek powel. the guts of this bike was found at a bike jumble in the 90's and was rebuilt by gary and a couple of friends from the BSA owners club. it flies!! mike was riding a kawasaki z1000 with my mate matt on the back and lisa was riding another 1000cc bike but she was riding mostly behind me and i didn't see what it was  i was riding my suzuki DR390, a crosser, not the best choice to try and keep up with super sports bikes!! but basically i found out that it will do 90mph but it doesn't like it!! they were kind enough to keep it under 100 though!! :D

here's a couple of pics :D

Liking the Benelli Tornado, aways fancied one of them 8)

The Fireblade looks the business too, shame there is still almost an inch of tyre unused on the edges, must be the local bank managers is it?

Looks a good show.
Is it every tuesday ? cos I'm off camping in Corfe next week and wouldn't mind a look if it's not raining, which it probably will be. :(

yep think it is every tuesday, people get there from about 430pm, always some nice bikes there and there was a ducati display truck with the brand knew models last night aswel. basically it's for people to ponce off their shiney bikes! and there are a load of pubs etc so food is available.

:D

that looks quite quiet for Poole Quay. it gets super busy on some nights.
the one at Paignton in Devon on a Wednesday is good too. i am lucky and live about mid way between both.

I used to like going to Poole Quay when I was a nipper on my RD350, always coppers around on the way home though  My Grandfather saw a Harley trike hearse up there one night, a few months later he was in it :( I have an enduring memory of following him on an old Ariel Square Four blowing smoke one night going to Poole Quay :D happy days.
