motability cars

yeah, this should be really handy and actually do 50mpg rather than other cars claims....though the sales guy did say on a motorway it will be doing 73mpg....i doubt it, though at 80mph the engine was ticking over well.

got a 2 week wait for it, so happy days.....and i have been told i can stick my personal number plate on it :D :D :D

My S Max supposedly does a hell of a lot more than I get from it, same story the last VW I had.

It is the way they do the tests that are flawed, but with a light foot I actually managed better than VWs figures, so they may well be more honest than Ford.

Saying that, if you get anything near the kinds of figures that Polo is capable of you really are doing well. If you can actually find some fuel to put in it of course, all our local garages are out of fuel right now!

it was fine here until hometime when all the garages clogged up!

if it drys up i wont be working much, i work out of the companies transit

My S-Max is supposed to average 51mpg according to the official figures. The best I have had is 46.3mpg and that was driving very carefully on long motorway trips. 60mph max and never take it over 2,000rpm in any gear. My normal driving, which is mostly short trips around town, averages out at 40.1mpg.

Regarding Motability. Since they imposed the £2,000 limit on down payments many of the vehicles that were way over the max price have come down to just under the limit. We looked at the BMW 318D Touring and it was £3,500, now it is £1,999.

yeah, i think the BMW 120D was £1,999, as were a few other expensive but good mpg cruisers.

seeing as i need to save cash, i opted for a TD, and no payment in advance, so will start saving from day 1.

around the doors its going to be fantastic for messages and taking parents out after work, but i made sure it was comfortable for when i need it, 100 mile round trips to kielder forest is going to be cheap and the 260 mile round trip to my girlfriends is going to be cheaper and comfortable for a change.

should see some good mpg figures where 99% of it is in top gear and at 65-75mph on my trips to her house in south lakes.
