So i bought a bike before i went offshore for my last trip and asked the guy to keep a hold of it until i got home before posting, no problem. So over 3 weeks pass and a big box arrives at my door. Get the bike out and built up and first thing i do is bounce on the forks, 80mm 2001 SIDS. Now i'm pretty sure i can safely say the travel is not meant to be 25mm with a nice thunk after that.
2nd problem.......it looks a bit small :? Damn it it looks very small! i bought it as an 18" thinking it should maybe just fit me, it does come with a thomson layback post after all so why not. So i get the tape out and its 17" c-t which going by the manufacturers measurements and the fact that it has 16.5 stamped into the bb shell i'm guessing its a 16.5! So i'm getting a bit pissed off by now!
3rd problem. gears don't work. So in my quest to adjust the indexing i spot the cable outers have been cut too short and don't fit correctly into the cable stops on both front and rear mech. I now cut new longer cable outer and what happens now, inner cable is too short..
So i have to either get the shocks serviced and pay for that or have a go myself and have to buy oil, seals and whatever other bits i need for that.
I'll have to replace cables if i want it to run properly

oh yeah and my favourite chop 5-6 inches off my legs.

ps its a Litespeed Lookout Mountain so really not a happy camper about this

pps forgot to mention the dent in the rear rim and the need for the brakes to be set up correctly and bled

Dude. . . Make sure you sterilise the saw before attempting any height adjustments ;)

Sucks to have this crap but surely it'll be worth it in the end?

I'd just get back in touch with the seller and ask for a refund. Or have you done that and the chap has washed his hands of it?

The first response in the STW ad is pretty ironic; "Oh, please measure it again and tell me the seattube is 17"...
Getting the size wrong is a pretty basic error, so PP should look favourably on any claim you make, unles you payed "gift"?

Haggis you should get in touch with that guy Munimula who
was hoping the frame was smaller than 18".
As a last resort :?

Rob

Had a response from the guy and he's willing to give me a £25 pound refund, that should just about cover the seals and oil but not the cables. He's definitely not keen on giving me anymore judging by his response. Looks like itll be in the for sale section soon enough  Not ideal but hopefully I can recoup my money
