Difficult to say, the ID's of the bidders are all different.

I think shill bidding is wishful thinking as all have a good history of bidding on other items so if it is shill bidding the guy is REALLY good!
They are just sought after.....

tough one as usually the massive jumps are in the last 10 seconds as all the seasoned eBayers place their bids.

I just tried to put some "will be nice if it works out" bids on a couple of items, taking one from £33 to £110. They are not due to end in the near future, I have no idea who the seller is and I am not doing it to try to help them, but there is probably a forum post some where in the world casting aspersions of shill bidding over my behavior.

You may note that the same group of bidders have bid up a lot of vintage items early. You may also have noted that in the case of the Grafton levers, they pulled bids at the last minute to permit a win at $56. Nice scheme, eh?

oh really? perhaps ebay should have this brought to their attention. Its certainly against the spirit of things if true and ultimately it affects ebays cut if the sale so I'm sure they would be interested.
