Mongoose IBOC Comp (1989?)

Found this on Ebay during the week and collected it today.

I reckon it may be a 1989 - but am happy to be corrected. It has a mixed bag of parts on it - Alivio rear mech, LX front, LX cantis, M451 and M452 hubs laced to a Ritchey OCR Pro on the back and an Araya RM-17 on the front.

Does anyone know where I can find the original spec? I've looked around the web and am coming up empty handed.

Looks good! I have an IBOC mongoose as one of my first projects but I can't find a whole lot of info on them either. Not even sure what year mine is.

Hey mate, it looks a little better now it's cleaned up and has amberwalls on it.

Try this to date your bike: have a look at the mech, chainset, hubs etc - they'll have serial numbers on them. Make a note of one of them and then have a look through the Shimano catalogues in the archives here (or Google it) to find the groupset and year it was produced. You'll most likely be able to date your bike to within a couple of years.
