Mondraker foxy carbon R bolt removal has hit a snag, help needed

Thanks. Unfortunately they are the shock mounting bolts, not the same as the link kit bolts. I wish they were, have exhausted myself looking.

May have to bite the bullet and get the full kit.

Bit the bullet and bought the full kit. I thought about spending the time finding alternate bolts but ultimately it could have resulted in a few errors and at least I know I've got the right ones.

I'm doing all the bearings anyway so new bolts and top hats will only add to the finished item.

I think it's exactly the right thing to do. You will know the life of all the bearing future and I have replaced SOME only to find I still have annoying slop SOMEWHERE - yeurg......

Yup, it's a really solid, expensive frame and works really well so despite the cost it's definitely no bad thing to just do the job once and do it right. Of course I applaud the desire to circumvent the cost, I am usually the first to go down the hunt for more cost effective options, but sometimes you just have to admit defeat. I'd actually forgotten about these until this thread but I had a lot of fun riding my mate's one a few times, plus the trails around Malaga when I was out there to write the article I posted the link to. I think the XR geo they used kept them feeling pretty up to date for a lot longer than they might otherwise have.

Cheers, I think it's the right way to go ultimately, and I'll know it's right.

My son loves it and is itching for it to be rebuilt.

I am toying with the idea of repainting it, as it has a few marks here and there. Decals are under a top coat so I'd lose those, but can't decide if it's worth it, or if some carefully placed frame protection would be a better way to go.

I've painted a few frames myself pretty successfully, but not a carbon one. For the price of decent protection
