modolo mach calipers, all the same?

in the late 1980s modolo produced three brakes:
mach 1
mach 3
mach qt-exe

what is ther difference, is it just the printing?

i think the brake levers are different, maybe that triggered the rebranding?

where they that bad? or just rare after the glory days of the corsa and professional ranges?

I got quite into this era of Modolo brakes when building my Vitus 992 last year. Rebranding the same item or making small modifications seemed to be a bit of a Modolo trait.

I have a pair of QT-EXE calipers and a pair of X-ERA calipers (early 90s model I believe). They are functionally identical and the main caliper arms seem to be cast from the same mould. There are small differences to the other fittings though - the X-ERAs have a flat spring where the QT-EXE springs are drawn from round stock. The X-ERAs also have small rubber plug which pop into the allen bolt heads and make them more aero (I guess)!

Here are the X-ERAs;

The brake levers for both were identical.

I find braking performance on the X-ERAs is reasonable, not amazing, although I did replace the rock-hard original sintered pads with Kool-Stop replacements to save my rims.

I can post some pictures of the QT-EXE calipers if you are interested, but from what I can see online they are pretty much identical to the Mach1.
The Mach1s look like they come with a cheaper looking brake pad compared to the moulded holder higher in the range.
