I've just noticed that wiggle have tyres on offer this month. I have an old kona frame and I need some tyres for it... anyone got any good suggestions for some "ahem" modern tyres that will fit with a resonable amount of clearance between the chain stays of a 91 Cinder Cone?

Panaracer 1.8s ;) Excellent tyres, good grip, and long lasting.. Continental's are good too, normally from past experience I have found that conti's 2.1 is normally every one else's 1.9 ;)

They are doing WTB Velociraptors for some daft price under £7 if I remember right...and they were classics back in around 96, so a good retro compromise.

I've got some IRC Backcountry 2.25s on my 94 Cindercone and they fit just fine. I've yet to try in the mud though.
