Modern Holdsworth Framesets

Retro Guru
On the market at the present time appear 2 or more outlets selling new produced Holdsworth Frame sets & bikes Any one know who builds the Framesets

After some uncertainty, the brand was acquired by Dave Loughran (Planet X). Loughran, a self-confessed bike obsessed entrepreneur, has pushed to recapture the Holdsworth approach. Reigniting the brand’s passion with modern design and ensuring it’s longevity well into the 21st century.

Holdsworth has secured the only Reynolds 753 tubesets in existence (100 sets), to be custom built in the UK by master frame builder Mark Reilly.

In 2017, Holdsworth have a full range of bikes, parts, and accessories that have been painstakingly recreated to encapsulate the Great British Cycling Passion of the last 100 years, beautifully designed and built to ignite the imagination of the both new and old Holdsworth fans

Holdsworth La Quelda looks like most other far Eastern frames to me....... Having said that it looks good value :)

He paid £20,000 for the name which is a shame, should of let the marque die with the closing of the shop instead of taking the name a plastering it on the tat that Planet X sells now.

To clarify a few points as there seems to be some mis information in this thread .

We are now producing for Holdsworth the heritage range that is built as close as possible to the original frames , using Reynolds tubing , all hand made in the UK or Italy by the top frame builders .
Mark Reilly produces the 753 frames . These frames are sold by both Steel vintage bikes in Berlin and ourselves in the UK .

There is a further range of steel frames which are actually produced in Vietnam .

In 2018 we will be relaunching the Holdsworth Campagnolo racing team led by Russel Downing and they will be racing carbon bikes with campagnolo components . In the team is Jake Womersley granddson of Brian Robinson and DS is Malcolm Elliott whose first bike was a Holdsworth .

We are doing our best though clearly our business model of offering industry beating great products and great value is not to everyones cup of tea . We do get things wrong as well .

And there’s enough tat on this search to back up the points made about the spurious use of the name. I went there in hope.
