Eh? Let me get this straight....someone crimped Ti stays to accomodate larger tyres....I have read that right?

I don't know why he thinks the crack is attributable to the kink in the stays. If every bike with kinked chainstays developed a crack, we would really be in trouble.

It's just a crack. The issue is how costly would it be to mend it.

and it looks as if the stays were crimped by dean during manufacture,same as many other frames are.
