Decided I need one of my bikes equiped with discs & front sus so it'll have to be the '03 Tanasi.

Catalogue spec was SID Team but sure they'll be too flexy for my 120kg

Needs to be max 80mm travel, IS disc mount so i can use my existing Hope Minis (most 2010 forks seem to be post mount :? ) & laterally stiff.
Remote lock-out would be a bonus.
Riding won't be any more extreme than Pines, Cannock, Peak District etc

What can you guys recommend?

yeah don't really want to go above 420mm a to c with sag so 440-450mm a to c max.

Aren't 'zocchis post mount too?

yeah post mount
the 85mm mx comps come in at 464 a-c
is 2006 im looking at though. apparantly, marz normally have a higher a-c :?

Have a set of 80mm Fox F80 RLTs fitted to my 97 Litespeed which I've been very happy with. Far better than the 80mm SIDs they replaced. The forks come with canti and IS mounts, think they are 05 or 06. Don't recall a-c but they are no taller than the older SIDs and fit the frame perfectly.

I'm really happy with my Magura Menjas. They're 85mm , but higher spec models have 80mm . The Lauren, i think, is the same weight as a SID, but as stiff as my Menjas, which are stiffer than any other fork I've ever ridden. Damping is spot on; there's lockout, but it's not really needed, since there's no bob, out of the saddle.
Year old examples can be picked up for £150 upwards. They're cheap, cos no-one knows about them. :D
And they're IS mountfor up to 205mm discs.

Fox F series, awesome but pricey

or

Rockshox Reba, awesome but not as expensive as fox with more adjustability than you can shake a stick at

You can get brake adaptors for PM to IS, or the brake you have may be PM compatible

John's right they are great forks, but post 05 Fox have had continual problems with the anodizing on the fork legs. Although they denied there was anything wrong with their process, they have changed it for 2010 and started applying a much thicker layer of anno.

My tip is to try and get 2005 or earlier, or stump up for the expensive 2010 models. ;)
