As much as i like habitat it should have died in the mid-ninties, kitchen companies always struck me as a massive swizz so good riddance i say...hope no one gets burnt by their passing though.

I think Habitat just rested in it's laurels far too much and got overtaken by other companies that offered more for less money.

TBH the place turned into a f**king rip off, much better off going to an antiques or furniture auction for properly constructed tables & chairs etc made of real wood!

They interviewed a lady on tv and asked if she thought it was a shame, she replied words to the effect of "Go to Ikea, it's the same but cheaper!"

Fair enough really!
