Go for it Makster, good luck. Are the cranks doubles or was the granny simply removed?

But aaargh droopy bars ....

This means you can improve the bike's performance loads by just rotating the bars and fittings to a proper upsweep. Or truly transform it by swapping them for a set of bars with a width befitting the size of rider that goes with a frame this size.

Enjoy!!

Its got double cranks. The seller says it was built that way from new, but doubt that is the case.
Will just see how it looks tomorrow but think it looks good so far. Its miles too big for me so that SHOULD stop me getting attached to it

SLightly OT, but that Ti Runner is just about the Pinnacle of Miyata frames of the era in my opinion. Very Nice.

I know for many others that is the RidgeRunner that yo-eddy is offering currently.

The TiRunner is nice. I think the multi dimensionals chainstays were quite tough to produce out titanium. To me the fact it is titanium draws a lot attention from the other nice frame features. So it is not really my fave. Think that is the duotone blue '93 TrailRunner with polished tail.

I think that all I will be doing with it is to clean it up and make sure its working well.
Will give it to my Dad under the instruction that he doesn't do anything to it without asking first!
I'll then take it back from him once he's finished with it and THEN the project can begin

Its got double cranks.

That look like DA7400 cranks to me. Proper range for this DH rig 8)

Great spot! I just presumed this had been changed over the years. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with this. I will post up some pics when I get it home :D

Some scans by Neil. Several more pics can be viewed here.

Right then..... collected the bike this afternoon. Am really pleased with the general condition of it. It seems to be original, appart from a changed stem and cheap tyres.
In a bit of a hurry now, but here is a quick spec....
XT M735 Rear/front mechs.
Tange Avenger oversize head-set.
XT M732/0 hubs with Ritchey Vantage Comp rims 8)
XT M734 cantis
Deore T thumbies (LHS has bent mounting bracket).
Sakae seat post.
Selle Italia Turbo matic sadle.
Dura Ace cranks.

Here are a few pics from my phone. Will take some proper ones tomorrow......

Ohh, almost forgot the best bit. I paid £80 for it :D

Wanna make a profit? I'll pay you 100 GBP

80 GBP is nothing. Even more 'nothing' considering what people in UK are used to pay for bikestuff. They rarely come up for sale, but if they come up some real Miyata bargains can be had at your isle :P, like 1981 FullPro-L for 120 GBP several months ago  You earned this score. You were awake and recognized the potential. Congratulations!

Still hope your father is in for making a Herbold replica. Please ask him to post it up here when done

Once I've taken some better pics, I would be gratefull for any tips/infoyoucould give me on what kit would be needed to make it into a Herbold replica.
Although it will be staying pretty much as-is for now, once my dad is finished with it, I will be taking it back with a view to a full restoration.
If it was a bit smaller, my dad wouldn't be getting a sniff of it! I love the construction of the frame and am already looking forward to getting it back
