Those very rarely pop up on eBay. I check eBay for Miyata on a daily basis for over 3 years now and this the second I see.

H-Ball raced -a much larger- one. Bummer, size won't fit me.

What do you think this ride is worth?

Too small for me too but my son needs a new race bike for this season, doubt I could build him up a new one for what this would bring.

Based on your devotion to the brand, I know this must be a fine frame.

- A 18,5" does 1845gr according to Miyata.
- They weren't offered as frame only, but I know these were 1000 euro frames back then.
- Very well made. When going from FAT to Miyata I do not feel Miyata saved somewhere. Miyatas are very well made mass produced bikes.
- Sturdy (but not as undestructable as a Grove Hard Core )

Value.... hmmm. Well it could be the guy from Singapore is really after it (he is already 5x on top!), so you have to deal with him ...and you know it only takes two to make the price skyrocket.

Overhere in Holland they pop up more regularly (Koga Miyatas, no Miyatas). You see nice ones go for over 500 euros, but one can also be lucky and spent only the half of that amount. Normally I am the lucky guy as I am really on it.

Unfortunately the pics are pretty bad and not much info is provided, so I do not really have a clue on the condition. Of course condition is very important for determination of the actual value of this bike.

Anyway the $202 is not so much money.

With the right bits it would make an awesome kids bike; a mini HBall replica

Bummer you weren't able to acquire the bike for your son. Honestly I also would have stopped bidding around the amount you bid, as with those poor pics and minor info one simply doesn't know what one is bidding at. BTW that guy from Singapore seemed VERY committed to me.

Today I were able to score a nice Tig welded steel frame from another Japanese manufacturer through the bay. I am really excited and I am looking forward to see how it compares to the other bikes in my stable.

Hi Rutteger,

I were a bit carefull, as one is only sure of the score the moment one has it in the hands. Would be not the first time a frame doesn't arrive....

It is a NOS 1991 Panasonic MC-Comp frame. It is an Elevated Chainstay frame and I consider it very Cool. I think it is understated quality.

Unfortunately the original Bigfork wasn't present anymore, but I do have a few NOS Switchblades, so no problem.

It will be a built up with primarily Japanese parts, just like original Panasonics.

It is my second Panasonic. The first I bought only two weeks ago. That mint 1990 MC4500 is a bike with Tange MTB DB tubing and LX. It will serve very well as commuter, as it has a kickstand, a proper lock and it is Pink! ....so nobody will steal it.

Without the kickstand and heavy lock it would also do very well in the rough stuff, though the frame isn't as light as the Hardtlite FM-1 Miyata.
