okay thanks, that does help. its hard to remain calm when somebody is being arsey with me and (after such a short period of time) is already demanding refunds as if money grows on trees and this money is just burning a hole in my pocket... ive explained that i have more to lose here than he does and he needs to be more patient because being arsey with me will get him nowhere. all things considered i am trying to approach this logically

Thanks for the replies. Some have been helpful, But the overall tone of it is that whether this guy is legit or not then I'm still going to lose my money. And before anyone else gets technical about who's money it is, the outcome is still the same so please don't bother....

I see you are one of these jewels of logic that passes off their own mistakes on others, and when others point out you are in the wrong you suggest they are not helpful because they don't happen to agree with your view.

Well I am sure their £150 did not grow on a tree. Sounds like they were done. If you did not tell them the package was sent unrecorded and second class why should they not assume it is missing, and why can you assume they received it?

He thinks after being 3 days late it must have been lost forever....

You really are an idiot. You say you didn't tell the person who paid £150 in good faith how you, casually, sent their goods and then suggest they are impatient having waited three days, quite normal for first class.

As has been mentioned...........was the buyer expecting it to be delivered first class /next day? if so then I guess he has cause to be a bit miffed.

nope, first class standard. but i posted it second class standard with a load of other stuff. must have forgot what was in each packet by the time i got to the post office

1st class doesnt increase its chance of arriving anyway so either way that comment is irrelevant. if its not helpful to me or the matter at hand then please dont post anything. i asked for friendly advice, nothing else
