I thought game theory implied you could save 10% on average by sniping (can't find proof in a quick Google
), but that's a poor deal if you miss something you really want for a price you're willing to pay.
I'm happy to snipe on items that come up often, like clothes, bikes we can sort out and sell on, and do a deal on stuff I need, like bike parts for a restoration, but if a rarity comes up I really want, I'll just put in the max i'm willing to pay and let it run.
