Middleburn Lifetime Warranty....is that really lifetime?
Just had these RS3's delivered...with a weeeeeeeeeee problem.
Now of course I don't have the original receipt or anything :)
Any of you had experience claiming with Middleburn?
Cheers
Carl

I had the same problem with my RS1's, needless to say after 13 years of hard use I didn't get a replacement.

I was amazed that a CNC'd pair of cranks did so well. 8)

It's a known problem with RS3s and predates lifetime guarantee, which only came in with RS7s and 8s, which are drop forged then machined whereas previous models are machined from billet.

Since they rotated the taper 45degrees, it's not been an issue.

Same happened to my left crank BITD and they replaced it with a slightly different crank that they'd thickened the crack prone area. For some reason it seems more common on left arms so there are often right arms for sale on Ebay, with no lefts.... Yours is actually WITH the rework. So it obviously didn't work.....

i would be sending them straight back to the cheeky so and so who sold them, not middleburn!!

ditto. unless you've got proof of purchase you'll have no joy with middleburn.
i'd be flaming the seller.

returns without a receipt

Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, you are entitled to the product being repaired or replaced within a reasonable period of time, if said product was not fit for purpose or was faulty etc. and there is no requirement to produce a receipt under this Act, so no seller can have this as a requirement.

Added to which, after the three years that have passed since this thread was written HB has probably bought and sold another 1000 sets of cranks on his various builds (and these were second hand from a private sale so the sale of goods act doesn't cover them in any way, shape or form)

For your next post see if you can utilise the distance selling act in a 5 year old thread.
