Middleburn hardcoat - worth it?

I'm just about to replace a middle ring on and am going for a Middleburn slickshift.

is the hardcoat actually worth it compared to a normal one?
i've never had a normal Midleburn ring not last a considerable time but have read varying/conflicting reviews on the hardcoat being worth it and wearing off.

I bought a bunch of these at half price BITD, but the hardcoat treatment was a bit disappointing and they didn't seem to last much better. Also, oddly, the chain lube turned them a strange yellowy-green colour.

I have some, the coating has quickly come of where the chain contacts the ring and where the ramps are.

I say not worth it over the normal slickshift, and well as you cannot get hardcoat in Silver, Red, ....

My big red old BiTD Middleburn seems to be made of a better quality Alu than these new ones :?
