And what kind of brakes can you use? U brakes only? That was the main problem of earliest merlin. One guy has one (88-89?) and can only use U brakes.

rollercam/ togglecam, MRC style etc

those are canti mounts, not rollercam/ubrake. rollercam mounts would be positioned higher and centered on the seat stays. nothing wrong though with rollercams, perform much better than cantis and if mounted on the seat stays have no mud problem and provide more heel clearance - but deffo need a brake booster.
