Really nice, when price and availability somehow collide at the perfect moment I’d really like one!

Anyone else think it looks a bit dated for a 1996 bike? If I had to guess I’d have said mid to late 80s but obviously it’s date confirmed by the build sheet.

Yes it's looks outdated for 1996. A non-sloping top tube, cantilever not V-brake, 1" inch threaded headset, bolted seatpost. Customer obviously wanted it that way.

Well it is a Mercian, its not like they are were at the vanguard of technology.

It is in very good shape. I still feel it is a bit too expensive. Very nice, though

Those downtube shifter mounts and the cable guides on the bracket are a bit special for a mtb.
