I picked up this absolutely gorgeous 1990 Diamondback Apex a while ago & have returned it to as close to ‘period-correct’ as I can with my inventory of bits. The bike has hardly been used (the paint hasn’t even completely worn off the braking surface of the rims!) but it had a late ‘90s fork & stem fitted. I’ve swapped out the newer bits for a Marzocchi XC400 (fully functional) & a Dean stem from close to ‘90. The tyres were swapped out at some stage. The gear inners & front brake cable were replaced (when the fork was fitted). Otherwise, the bike is original, down to the grips & saddle.
This bike is in very rare, hardly-used condition & everything is in amazing condition for it’s age. Paint work is immaculate & the components are mint & fully operational. I’ve touched up some small marks on the brake lever blades with a permanent marker & the left grip has a crescent-shaped cut in the end from the bike being dropped at some point.
