I love all things Mavic. The 577 hubs are my all time favourite bike part. A very kind ebayer just sold me a 571 rear hub with the impossible to find Hyperglide cassette body on it. Just beautiful.

The great thing is they have many, many clicks. I used a Mavic wishbone on an 8 speed Shimano cassette with a 10t TNT lock ring and a Ritchey 9 speed cog. 10 speeds with 8 speed spacing back in the mid 90s all thanks to Mavic shifters.

They were made by Simplex. I have found a couple of NOS sets cheap by searching for simplex shifters in the past as Simplex sold them under their name too (although they were black and silver rather than black and bronze)
