I picked this wheel up for not many quid today as I've been looking for a front wheel to go with my Mavic 531 hub/231 rim combination rear wheel.

It's a Paris Gao Dakar hub and M7CD rim and though not exactly the same is a very good match imo.

Any idea what metal the hub body is made of? It's not magnetic and doesn't look like an aluminium alloy

lovely wheel that fella. I have a pair in black which will fit in nice with my 91-92 build. The hubs are super easy to work on with the cartridge bearings.

It's 2014 aluminium.

A very decent Euro aerospace alloy with similar properties (but very different chemistry) to 7075.
Nothing to worry about there.

I've got a black set...the coloured anodising seems to last better than the silver road ones.

All the best,
