Mavic Cosmic Hub compatibility

I bought some Mavic Cosmics off ebay and they came with the original TA 9 speed cassette. The hubs are campagnolo compatible. As my chain was jumping off the worn cassette I wanted to replace it for a new campag cassette.

However upon taking the cassette off, the hub splines dont look like nine speed but 8 as all the splines have the same shape. I tried to fit a 9 speed ultradrive cassette but it is obvious it wont fit as it has the odd shaped keying for the odd spline shape on the 9 speed hub. I need 9 speed so if I cant fit a 9 speed cassette on it then Ill regretebly be selling the wheels.

Can't think of any way you could make this work well I am afraid.

I sold my 8-speed cosmics on BITD for that exact reason.

cheers. It appears that original 9 speed TA cassette that came with them was a one off cassette for these freehubs. Typical!

Would it be possible to change the freehub body out of the hub shell? Might see what mavic say.

Can you get a 9 speed cassette and swap the spacers for the old ones ?
