Mavic Bottom Bracket installation

wow! there's a blast from the past!! we fitted quite a lot of these mavic units to frames with buggered threads. the campag toolkit came in handy for the chamfering part. if i remember rightly they used to come loose quite readily so mind and check frequently!

Got one of these fitted to my Gitane/Vitus GTI, does that mean no other bottom bracket will fit then?

Only if the threads are buggered.

okay, just reading what John had written I got the impression the threading for the Mavic BBs was somehow different to others.
