MAVIC 825 thumbshifters: am I missing some parts?

Hi,

I bought a pair of these thumbshifters to a fellow RBer years ago. But it was only today that I started cleaning and servicing them. The left shifter was really hard to shift so I disassembled it to have a look at what could be going wrong. Inside, there were grease residues but... no parts, so don't know what the grease was supposed to lubricate. However, it seems to me that there are tiny holes for a "retrofriction" spring, in Simplex parlance.

So, am I missing this spring (and perhaps other parts: spacer, washer, ...) as can be seen [1] in the first iteration [2] of MAVIC 825 shifters or does the second (and last) version [3] come without anything inside?

Thanks!

This is The Way
I mean maybe not exacly like that with the lathe and math and everything. But there´s useful info in the video and I did make some springs out of musical wire and much simpler tools myself. It´s simpler than one may think really.
