Marzocchi Decal Help

This is not necessarily the case...

I had a set of 1998 Z2 Bams, that had 98 embossed in the dropout.

I know it all checks out, as I bought them new in 1998...

However the graphics on mine are like the black and white ones you've got on the left in terms of the position of the word 'Marzochhi'.
But they have the same red colour fill as the ones in the middle.

They also have the 'Z2' logo rather than the 'Atom Bomb' logo at the bottom.

Yours are MY97 forks hence the round preload adjusters and MY97 decals ;)

However those z1's are 99s - you can tell by the lines behind the text 'bomber'...

Yes the MY99s have the lines behind the Bomber text, and MY00 with the bolt on brace have three lines at the bottom behind the Bomber text.

Yes its true that the casting date can also match up with the model year.

More often than not though the casting dates end up being a year earlier than their model year mainly because the next years model seems to come out around September of the current year.

Of all the marzocchi forks I have I thing there are only 1 or two which were cast in their model year. There are also a few other odd things with casting dates and model years, as I have some 97 cast forks which are MY99. The lowers on the MY99 Z1 dual are also exactly the same as the MY97 MrT and were cast in 1996.
