I have a piar of 1998 Marzocchi Bomber Z2 BAM forks, anybody here service Marzocchi forks? Or do you know where I can get them serviced?

Thanks, Mousemat.

I have a set of the very same.

I think windwave do still have online catalogues for these, theyre dead easy to take apart...

TFTuned do Marzocchi now and Windwave too.
Depends what you want to do,oil change is dead easy and with a few specific tools everything else is too.

Mousemat, if you are reasonably happy with pulling things apart the bombers are a relatively simple fork to work on with only a few things which can trip you up.

As mentioned previously there are full service manuals on various websites if you can't find them I can send you a copy.

Once you get familiar with the manual and what you have to do, the main areas to look out for are the bolts which hold the crown on and the bottom nuts on the base of the legs (which bolts onto the rebound cartridge). If your forks have been left a while these bolts can seize and break when you attempt to undo them. If they don't loosen with reasonable force soak them in some penetrating fluid overnight and they should come undone without damaging anything.

My only other tip would be to use good quality oil (I use redline suspension fluids in mine) use antiseize compound on the bolts and use a torque wrench if you have one.

I also have a dismantled bomber (98 Z1) on the bench at the moment if you want some photos of the internals for what to expect.

Other than that take you time and you can't go too wrong. :)

Cheers for the advice, I think I'll give it a shot and dust off the old tool kit! I'll have a scoot around for the service manual if not I'll take you up on your offer, andrewl, of a copy from you. It's good to know there is help out there if I get stuck. :D

IIRC CRC do all the spares still, and springs etc are easy to replace.

I swapped the oil for somehing a bit thicker in mine and now the damping is spot on. (well, I am heavy  )
