Good stuff ..definitely not the first 'linear pull' brake though, - I think the French might have something to say about that.

Keith Bontragers, 87 designed Brake conceived to overcome the rear suspension brake issue, of the Kestrel Nitro full Carbon Full Suspension Bike of 1988.

When I asked him why no Patent, he said if you go back far enough someone has always done it before...

I thought that while the decelerators (which weren't linear brakes) were tubular titanium the cheap tricks (which were his original linear brakes) were originally aluminium sourced from double glazing glass channels:

So the story goes.. I've never seen any window-frame derived ones though, they've all looked like those above...? (ie machined from billet).

agree that the Decelerators aren't really linear-pull brakes.
