Marin Rift Zone ~1997

I own a late 1990's Marin Rift Zone. I rode it for a couple of years and the upgraded to Shimano XT and rode it for a few more years. It has been sat in my shed since I moved away from North Wales. Has changing the original spec of the bike made it less sellable?

Not really. If it's original spec AND in unused condition then yes, it might fetch a much higher price. But for a well used groupset, even if in good working condition, it won't make much difference to the price whether it's original spec or upgraded. If anything, if you've upgraded to XT then it's likely to be worth slightly more.
