Never really got around to doing a proper built thread for this but over the years it seems I had accumulated 3 pine mountain frame sets from 1989, as is usual with the 89 grey paint schemes they always seem to show surface rust, this was the case with all 3 that I had picked up and I couldn't not get them refurbished. I figured maybe it's time to do something with them so off I went to the local powder coaters to get all three done at the same time.

After a bit of back and forth emails with Gil we finally got the correct decal sheet sorted.....And they look fab!

Well with the malverns speedily approaching and my last day off before the trip down I spent today building it up with some 7 speed Shimano Deore II, I knew it was all in the shed somewhere.... Just had to find it!

Sadly with time against me I was unable to find the silver biopace chain set so plummeted for the all-black biopace which matched the Saracen branded wolber wheels with black Deore hubs, I'm sure I have a silver one somewhere and will change it as soon as I can.....

Very nice, 89 Marin's were definitely the best looking in my opinion. Out of interest do you know the ral number they used for the frames. Your's look a good colour match.

Very nice. It’s a striking colour.

It is, luckily the paint wasn't faded underneath handlebar grips so I matched it up with RAL2005 .... Coincidentally those foam grips are back on the bike as original as the day they will put on.

Nice , I would like to see a picture of them all lined up when finished

So would I but I fear for my life, sure she would kill me if she found three more bikes in the attic. 😆

1989 👍 , Frame colour is RAL7047 was a perfect match, buying an RAL colour fan was a great investment.
