Marin Palisades Trail 1988

Seeing the Carrera Quattro Comp thread...I typed in 1988 MTB on fleabay and this came up...bonkers mudguards (no doubt hip retro collectables in themselves ;-/.....), but looks like it'd clean up.....never owned a Marin....this looks classic....spot of rust, but saveable.​

I really like the 88 Marins. Also any excuse to post a picture of mine. Perhaps it might motivate someone to save the one on ebay.

I'm no expert either but think there was 2 versions in 88. Maybe different territories or production runs ?.

The one I have with red forks and flat bars. The one on ebay with black forks and riser bars. I remember when I got my 89 Bear Valley the shop, in the UK, still had some Palisades with the riser bars. So maybe the flat bar version was earlier in the 88 run ?.

Also I think I may have read they were called Palisades and Palisades Trail but may be making that bit up..

Think everything you've said is bourne out by the pictures, does seem there are two versions, two names.....

Good point, I didn't actually zoom in and look at the ebay one properly was just going from memory. I'm now thinking do I need a Trail to go with my Palisades.

I think its the 86/87 typeface that carried on into the 88 range for a short term along with an 87 black fork onthe palisades, sadly catalogues are pretty much non existent.
