Don't be put off by the way the welding looks, yes it's taiwanese ti and the quality of tubing not as good as the US makes of it's day, overpriced in it's day perhaps but you got what you paid for,I once had what I thought was an Indian fire trail awful welds but that's the difference you get between US and Asian finish

It was built in the USA by US civilians using US parts!!

Be careful with this seller, I won an auction of his last week(bars and stem) and he refused to send the bars as I won the auction for 99p and the bars were marin ti ones and worth far more. He now has them listed seperately so it looks like someone may have wised hi m up. He tried to claim no bars were included but the pictures all showed them and the description stated "bars and stem"

That would be funny but I'm sure no one would be that stupid so you must be joking, yes?

Marin Yes.
Ti .... looks strange with ploppy welds but Yes.

The welds on the 1992 Marin Tange sets are even smaller beads, so I don't think it is stripped steel. Strangely, drop-outs are virtually the same as the steel frames which to be honest looks over worked for Ti.

Does the fact that an owner of one of these bikes (that is an American Litespeed made, 1990/1991 Marin Ti) has posted up a photo of his fully decaled bike and has proven catagorically and without doubt (except in the eyes of tongue lolling idiots) that it is the same as that bike not count for anything, or is this a vain attempt by the tongue lolling idiots to convince others that this bike is polished steel to keep the price low?

To be fair Pete it wasn't that long ago you said this...

It is a 1990 or early91 Marin (Litespeed made) Team Titanium.

Trust me, I have some pics that will prove it...

Na, that's polished steel.

so moving on..generally the feeling is that it is actually a marin 90/91 marin team titanium frame.

but..also given another members bad dealings with this seller it is crucial anyone considering buying from this chap asks..if I buy it ..exactly am I getting

Good to know

genuine mistake

The listing of the bars and the stem together on ebay was a genuine mistake, made after listing the item under the influence of wine. as for the buyer of the stem saying i did not know what i had is rubbish, i did not know exactly what i had but new it was ti. I aint a dope. Why not check the rest of my feedback on ebay. I buy bikes and sell all the parts separate. I'm sorry that the guy who bought the stem is bitter about not being able to going under the radar and grabbing a bargain but it was a genuine mistake.

i also forgot to say that I offered him a full refund to send the bars back plus the cost of his postage and offered to buy him some bars and post them to him free of charge which he must have forgot to mention. sorry but i had to get this off my chest
