Those fluoro Marin's are getting more collectible. That chain stay on the last one looks in good condition. Looks like it's just been to the shops and back. I'm tempted.

I bagged the south version for 54 quid, quite excited, it'll be my first proper restoration where the initial bike is pretty much fucked, a real challenge to get it back up to scratch on a budget.

Here it is after a quick wash and with some air in the tyres, rode it 5 miles from pick up point to Bletchley train station because the train wasn't running, it rode quite well considering it had no brakes, it's been years since I deployed the trainer on the back tyre braking technique, haven't done that since my BMX days, also there's some play in the headset, some chips and scratches and a few rust spots, pedals are probably the worst affected.

It needs brake cables and blocks, headset service and the rear derailleur cable replacing. Tyres are in amazing condition, particularly the front which seems like new, still supple and with no sign of perishing, as far as I can tell everything's original, very happy with the purchase.




Anyone know how to date the frames?
