Hi all I got this for my girlfriend yesterday. It is a very nice survivor and everything works great! Can anyone tell me the exact year of this muirwoods?

I like it! Are my eyes deceiving me, or is that from the year with the rough feeling PTFE coating instead of proper paint, supposedly to resist mud sticking to it?

1990-92 are the rough Zolatone paint. I'm not sure if 93 was a smooth Zolatone formulation or whether they had already moved away.

1990 + 91 were the years for proper rough Zolotone. 92 sorted of looked like it but wasn't really and 93 was just satin paint and finishing kit painted to look ano.

I didn't know that 1992 wasn't Zolatone any more...you learn something here every day!

Is it possible to reproduce the Zolotone finish, or are you buggered if you want to reproduce it?

it is perfectly possible to recreate it, you have to use a particular car primer, and then lighten or darken it accordingly..

...its a 1993 in my opinion Marins best year for frame colourways. Looks sweet!
