Marin FRS Rift Zone

Re:

Finally I have a rear shock that can match the plushness of my Spinner Elixir 565. Job done!

It's just occurred to me that the bike at the beginning of the thread is not the bike shown with the new shock in it. That looks a lot later, similar to the Wolf Ridge I bought a donkeys age ago. So the 185 malarkey is right but the first bike is definitely 165 or my name is Spatial Gossip

If the debate is still ongoing about the shock length, i can 100% tell you it is 165mm eye to eye, and your bike is also in the wrong section, it is a 1997 model the same as my rift zone, the only difference yours had from oe spec was the xt vbrakes, it wouldve had avid vbrakes and matching levers originally!

Here is mine when i originally bought it a couple of years back..

And also the proof of year via the manuals..

I thought it might of been a 1997.
I usually go for Avid v-brakes, but these XT ones are great, better than some SD7's I've had. I did have Ti's on my Sunn BMiX but ended up selling that bike a month ago on eGay.

So your saying my bike is a 165, and the silver/yellow bike is 185?
