testride 2 - with marin rockstars

awesome!!!!! quick steering feels really responsive :D

will post photos soon

You could also try those bars from On-one which are widely swept out - a bit like the old Cunninghams (see the Lisa Phelan photo thread)

many many moons ago MBUK made a road bike out of a mountain bike. 105 or Ultegra groupset I think, upside down chopped road bars in a courier stylee, slicks. Looked fantastic - article said it rode well too (but then they would say that wouldn't they)

You can use 10-speed Campag Ergo shifters on an 8-speed SHimano MTB cassette.

Works a treat, as the cable pull is exactly the same.
Find the earlier 10-speed shifters where the front mech isn't indexed (micro-ratcheted, rather than shifting in 1 or 2 big clunks) and you can use any combination of double or triple front rings, too. Keep both your MTB mechs and off to go.

Works a treat.

I have drop bars on my Colnago MTB .

It rides well . I have just changed the stem for one with more angle .

Looking good, some funky bar tape should be a cheap improvement. Hows the drop, though I'm guessing you might need a saddle first to really test it.

steers a heap better than when I tried it with RC35's on. Unfortunatly bent my post this weekend so need to get a new one

Kev you are the king of drops - what are your thoughts?

Looking good Nick. You're going to need a shorter and higher rise stem though as you'll be too streched, most riding will be on the 'hoods' and you'll have too much weight over the front axle.

I see you've gone for STi on r/h and standard aero lever and bar-end shifter on left 8)

Look forward to seeing it finished. Rock on!

Kev - yeah stem will come - just wanted to see it on!!

The photos are bad obviously as both levers are Sti!!
