Marin East Peak '99/'00 & RC36 Pro Class 2 knowledge/exp

No really retro at all but just got hold of this frame/fork combo at a bargain price for my brother who decided he wanted a full bouncer. In the process of transferring the bits off his hardtail now and just wanting to see if anyone had much knowledge or experience of either?

Suss design seems very similar to my Heckler being single pivot in a similar location - nice and simple.

Wondering whether to bung on a set of '04 Marz MX Comp Airs on it rather than stick with the RC36's (or is that because I want the Paces' for my second ride?!). Was thinking the MX Comps might be a bit more fit and forget for him (figuring out how to mount a disc caliper on a fork took him about 5 minutes last night!).

Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew, my full suss is a 2002 East Peak & I have recently fitted a Pace RC36 Pro class2 with lockout. The change has, IMHO, improved the ride immensely from the supplied Manitou SXe's & suits the riding I enjoy, mainly bridal paths/trails on the North Downs around the Maidstone area.
