Marin costum made road bike in steel... as late as 2000

Its not rare to see a lot of the european road bike compagnies to build a steel frame with 1" and for quill ... but is so totally not Marins style to make somthing lige that?! Could be an under-education mecanic or something that build it at school (normall pratice in Denmark is that skilled mecaniscs had to buold their own frame)... But as a factury thing... cant see it
