Oh the bother i go to for this Zolatone paint......
Now i'm a bit of a perfectionist so i believe that if i'm restoring a bike i want it as close to the original as poss. (& i'm not wanting to disrespect the great restorations of zolatone frames done by folks on here).....

This has meant that i have taken a bit of time and effort to try and source the right paint for the job......by this i mean "Matt Grey Zolatone 2000" for the 1990 range and "Charcoal Zolatone 2000" for the 1991 range.

An English firm i spoke to that deals with Zolatone paint supplies (interior finishes) pointed me in the direction of a Los Angeles based company that has developed Zolatone for many years and for many applications (interior & exterior). They are known as Surface Protection Industries Inc. and i have a feeling that it will be their Zolatone Automotive subsidiary company that may be able to provide me with the paint i require. I am yet to contact them to see if they were indeed the suppliers to Marin back in the early 90's and whether they can provide what i'm looking for today but when i do i will be looking to see if they can ship a quantity over the pond (should i find the successful product).
I suspect, however, that shipping will be expensive and it is likely their will be a minimum purchase quantity.

If all of this is feasible & once the paint has arrived in this country i'm sure that painting shouldn't be a problem. The painting process is slightly different from the norm but products can be bought over here for Zolatone paint spraying, and i'm sure a decent paint shop will be happy to give it a go....

Of course, if anyone wants to contribute to the cost and receive what will hopefully be the correct paint in return then just give me a shout..... I know this very much depends on cost, so i'll try and research this very soon....

Obviously i can't guarantee anything here, but if it works out then we could have some very original looking Zolatones on this site..... 8) :)

Drop me your email on a pm if you want the files - I will be back in work on Friday so will send them then :D I have a few more from the 'retro' years but annoyingly very little for 1990 - and I only wanted the 90 bear valley
