Some type of Magnum like these....

If the write up in Cherry's first post is correct, that Mars only come in red, then I'm condident I've scored some Magnum's.

My forks also dont have a polished crown, more frosted like the Magnum pics.

Yea, I'm 99% certain they're Magnum, but will post pics up Tuesday for confirmation.

I had a set of the tripple clamp version of the Magnum forks on a Marin B17.

I certainly can't knock them, they were a good solid fork that did exactly what they were designed to do.
Deffo a step or three up from the RS.

If they are Magnums, not that great, but do give a bit of bounciness

Think the basic ones just had a spring in one leg and the R's had a bit of rebound dampening with the assembly in the right leg.
You need to use the grease gun with their prep m stuff, empty the old crud out every now and then too.
They were supposed to give 76mm of travel, but think that was a bit hopeful.
Still better than the RS ones though in my opinion

If you need it think I have still got the gun and grease from when my daughter had some of these forks on her bike
