Just got a set of Manitou3 forks and they are ok apart from one thing, no boing! They move up and down ok, there is no rust on the stanchions but that's it.
How do I get the boing back?

e-bay is your friend; and post in the 'Wanted To Buy' thread of this forum ... and check up on some of the historical threads as well, as some retrophiles have re-built similar forks already (they might be able to point you in the right direction)

Re:

Any hints how to install the dust seals into lower legs?
I've got a Manitou 1 to which I have changed the aforementioned new elastomers from Suspension Fork Parts but even when I'm following the instruction for rebuilding the fork, I just cannot get the seals back in place.
The thing is that the upper bushings and seals need to be slided up the stanchion tubes. Then the bushings are pushed down into the lower legs and after that the manual says that "install dust seals". Right. I mean, how on earth do you install them when the outer diameter is larger than that of lower legs and they're around the stanchion tubes already so one cannot really flex them too much???
