hi,
i just took the manitou 2 apart which i bought on ebay recently. want to service it before i put it on my marin ift (thanks development_cycle!).
although it has some marks of heavy use the overall condition is ok. nothing is broken and even the elastomers seem to be fine. the only thing that worries me is, that the "Shish kebab" (bolt with the elastomers) is dangling loosly on the lower end of the inner leg. shouldn't that bolt be firmly attached to the inner leg?
on the following image you will see what i mean.
main.php

there is a gap between the first elastomer and the end of the inner leg. shouldn't one more elastomer fill that gap?
another weirdness. on the end of the dropouts there are small discs. it seems as if they could be used to adjust the suspension fork somehow but what does it adjust and why is it just working on one side?
thankfull for any thoughts...

there should be , in total , 3 3/4 inches of elastomer

the bolts should take up the slack when tightened , the adjusters on the bottom of the legs will take up even more when you add the compression
