The elastomers are not part of the dampening process. They 2 black elastomers are inside the inner tube - just like they are in the very original fork build.

Full dampening happens outside the inner tubes. How its supposed to be.

[UPDATE August 9th, 2021] and bump! ... A full suspension kit for the REAR (!!!) system (of 1993 Manitou FS, 1993 Marin Pine FRS, 1993 Team FRS, etc.) is now available too!

I bought a set just like this off German eBay about three years ago as I wasn’t impressed with the elastomers I got from the well known company in the states that make and sell elastomers

For a fork with limited travel I was well impressed with the results
